Words: Graphics for Facilitators
A Visual Language Introductory Workshop
less text + more visual language = outstanding results
In an environment where information overload is growing
exponentially and the world is moving at a faster speed, "Visual Language"
forges bridges between those who learn best from reading (about 22%)
and those who learn best from seeing and doing (about 88%).
Come and spend a day with Rob and Laurie Benn, Visual
Language Consultants, who will share with you some of their 'visual
language applications' that combine key text messages with graphic techniques,
icons and images to increase clarity and comprehension amongst groups
like participants, stakeholders, staff and board members, as they work
together.
Rob and Laurie will guide you through a refreshingly active
day where you'll learn (hands-on) some 'Visual Language' (VL):
- 'see' some VL history
- build a simple graphic vocabulary
- practice basics for graphic facilitation
- learn graphic techniques which convey both concrete and abstract
ideas
- explore visual metaphors in visual language and their applications
in facilitated activities
